How does the peanut shelling machine work?
The peanut shelling machine operates through a four-stage automated process designed to maximize efficiency and shelling precision while minimizing kernel damage. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown:

Coarse-fine grid drum dehulling
- Peanuts are fed into the rotating drum equipped with coarse filing bars and a fixed intaglio surface.
- The rolling friction between the bars and the surface cracks the shells open without crushing the kernels.
Shell-kernel separation via airflow
- The cracked mixture of shells and kernels falls through the drum’s grid into a duct.
- A high-speed fan blows lightweight shells outward for collection, while heavier kernels proceed to the next stage.
Gravity-based purification
- The remaining mixture enters a gravity separator.
- Full kernels (denser) are lifted upward to the discharge outlet for immediate packaging or further processing.
- Unshelled or partially shelled peanuts (lighter) drop downward into an elevator for re-processing.
Closed-loop re-dehulling
- The elevator transports undershelled peanuts back to the fine grid drum for a secondary round of dehulling.
- This cycle repeats until 98%+ shelling efficiency is achieved, ensuring minimal waste.
